Winston-Salem is served by Interstate 40, a major cross-country freeway that begins in the western Mojave Desert and ends in Wilmington, North Carolina, on the Atlantic Coast. The Center for Structural Biology is located at the Bowman Gray Technical Center, 950 Reynolds Boulevard. Midatlantic06 will be held nearby, on the campus of Wake Forest University.

I-40 East: Driving through Clemmons from the west, exit left on Business I-40 (#188) and follow Business I-40 into Winston Salem (approximately 5 miles). Take the Stratford Road exit (3B) and follow S. Stratford Road for 0.2 miles. Turn left onto N. Stratford Road and follow for 1.3 miles. Turn left onto Reynolda Road, follow for 0.2 miles, and turn right onto Coliseum Drive. Follow Coliseum Drive for 1.2 miles, and turn left onto University Parkway. Follow University Parkway for 1.2 miles, and enter the Wake Forest campus by turning left onto Wake Forest Road.
I-40 West: The Piedmont Triad (GSO) International Airport is approximately 20 minutes east of Winston-Salem. Driving on I-40 West from GSO, keep right at the I-40/Business I-40 split, and follow Business I-40 for about 15 miles. Just after entering the city, take the Cherry Street exit (5C). Follow N. Cherry Street for approximately 1 mile as it becomes University Parkway. Follow University Parkway for 2.4 miles, and enter the Wake Forest campus by turning left onto Wake Forest Road.
